Welcome to Southeast Michigan Women of the ELCA

As a community of women created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in  faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society, and the world.

Annual 2021 Katy York Honoring Women Luncheon has been cancelled

I have received inquiries regarding the Honoring Women’s Luncheon for 2021.  There will be no luncheon this year.  As we all know, the Covid-19 Virus has disrupted our lives for over a year. We are now into the second year of this Pandemic. We are hoping that next year, 2022 will be more favorable to us and we will be able to meet again.

I know some of the churches had selected ladies for 2020, and some have selected ladies for 2021. For all the congregations that selected  that “Special Lady” to represent all the women of your congregation, if you would send me the names of  the Honoree, Certificates will be made for each woman  or women.

We prat that in 2022, we will be able to resume our Luncheon, and all the women from 2020, 2021, and 2022 will be recognize at that time. Please send the name of the Honoree, the name of the Church to me by email to or mail to:

May God continue to bless everyone and let me know what your WELCA Unit is doing, so we can support your efforts.
